Sayonara America!

This is it! I woke up at the butt crack of dawn (aka 4 in the morning) to leave for the airport. I said bye to my dad and then my mom and sister brought me to the airport.

(At the airport. Aren't I cool?)

I'm proud to say I finished packing before midnight! My suitcases weigh over 90 lbs together lol but at least I didn't have to pay extra! I'm pretty sure I forgot something important but I couldn't think of anything I forgot so idk. But it always happens!
The security line was long as always but whatever I got through.
Tally of guys I've seen in cowboy hats so far: 4 (3 of them are at my gate)
smh...

I have all my kanji cards to study on the flight plus blank cards to make more! I was in this Asian market yesterday and I could totally read a bunch of the Chinese characters so that's cool!

Also, I found this girl's blog from 2010 who stayed with the same host family I'll be staying with. She complained a whole bunch about the horrible commute (25 min bike ride from the house to the train station, then an hour train ride, and then a long walk up a hill to Nanzan) that wasted 4 hours of her day every day. So that's kind of bumming me out.
But she did say the family was super nice and very patient with her attempts at speaking Japanese. That's good to hear!

Anyway, I'm going to miss America a lot. But I'm also way excited to get to Japan!
So talk to y'all tomorrow when I'm
finally there!!

(When it was 70 the other day)

  1. Ah, bye! Have fun! And with the commute, hey, at least you'll likely never complain about how long your daily commute takes you ever again. :P
