Anyway the jam finally got opened so I could have it on my bagel! I've never really liked bagels because they're so chewy but I do like that they fill me up more than just a piece of toast.
Ribbon sat next to me on the table while I ate this morning. It was cute!
In class today, we played bingo. We had to go around and ask other people if they'd done each of the things on our paper and write their name if they had. And we had to make three lines to win. Heather won and then Natalia and Tina got second and third. It wasn't fair because they just asked each other, when we were supposed to ask everyone. But Chris and Ryan are so bad at Japanese and talk so slow.
I was really angry because I get super intense and competitive in games and hate losing! Also, I was at an unfair disadvantage because I've done way more than the other people in my class.
No one else had written a love letter! Like really?
So yeah Tina got a marshmallow with chocolate inside, Natalia got a piece of chocolate, and Heather got this pack of flower shaped sweets like the ones we had in sadou that time, as well as some other small ones with seaweed and seeds in them.
(Cute wrapper!)
So also, we were talking about the snow monkeys in Nagano. Emma had told me that you can't go in the onsen with the monkeys because it's too dirty. But sensei had been there and said you can! I really want to go!
I told sensei what Emma had told me, and that there's monkey unko in the onsen and she cracked up! Haha I have Miyabi to thank for teaching me the word "unko" hahaha.
At lunch I got the balanced meal with medium rice, which I've found is the best way to get your money's worth. It's the same price as misokatsudon, but so much more food!
See?
Emma and I are planning to go to Sweets Paradise tomorrow, because I've been craving it recently. I was talking about it in front of Heather and Natalia, so I felt like I should invite them too. So they're coming too. Afterwards Emma and I were going to go manga shopping at Book Off before the tax goes up next week.
After lunch I headed to the library to finish watching Departures. Esteban had just sat down and started watching it. I noticed all the copies were in use, so I went over to him and he changed to the two person booth so we could both watch it.
It ended up being a pretty good movie! It won a ton of awards internationally too. There were some sad parts too. Esteban cried but I didn't, because I don't cry at movies. I guess I'm heartless haha.
Then we headed to class. Class was super boring but at least sensei had listened to the comments we made last week and stopped doing the already prepared narrated powerpoints and started actually lecturing in real time.
After class, Esteban and I headed home. Today was such a pretty day! It was sunny and warm and a little windy. I thought the TV tower looked especially beautiful with all these clouds!
When I got home, we had curry pasta with eggplant. It was nom!
Then I studied the vocab I have to know for tomorrow.
Miya and I watched Pokemon! She told me she likes it. It was cool seeing Pokemon in Japanese.
Then Miya watched some Disney show I've seen ads for in America. The remote for the tv we have has this awesome button that when you press it, it switches the show's language! So Miya can switch to either Japanese or English. She always switches the shows she likes to English, which sucks for me because I can't get Japanese practice. Ah well.
Ribbon looking super cute with a puff in his mouth!
